KANE vs Chavo w/Neely, Non-Title Handicap Match

photo: courtesy wwe.com

Tuesday, April 29, 2008 - Atlantic City, NJ

source: Andrew Rote wwe.com - Strange things were happening in Atlantic City where ECW fans were gathered to witness the BackLash fallout.

Both of the ECW color commentators walked out just as Kane was set to take on Chavo and the debuting Bam Neely. Why? No clue. Adamle squawked and walked off through the crowd first, followed by a bemused Tazz a few seconds after hyping the main event and the start of the match. Was Adamle suffering from a little Mr. Socko residue?

Neely and Chavo picked up a non-title win over the ECW Title Holder Kane after both men worked together to put the fiery champion through paces. Since losing ECW Gold to Kane at WrestleMania, the "Mexican Warrior" has tried time and again to bring the Prince of the Pyro down and out. Time and again he has failed - but this time, with the help of a brawny bouncer, Chavo gets a tidbit of a sampling of what it's like to pin someone like Kane.

THE FIRE BURNS BRIGHT
Sunday, April 27, 2008
Baltimore, MD

source: wwe.com and pwtorch.com - The Fire still burns in the Land of the Extreme as ECW Champion Kane solidified his status at the top of the extreme brand by pinning Chavo Guerrero.

Chavo Guerrero came to the ring with Bam Neely. They showed a video clip from the Cutting Edge when Kane threatened Edge before Edge's familia beat him down and injured Kane's knee. Kane then walked out limping a little. Tony Chimel handled the formal intros, with Chavo getting the resounding boos. Kane was all cheers.

Chavo quickly went after the knee, but Kane tossed him over the top rope to buy some time. Kane didn't buy too much time, as he followed to the outside and Chavo rolled back into the ring. Chavo then tried a double axehandle off the apron, but Kane caught him in mid-air and rammed him into the ring apron. Chavo distracted the ref at 4:00, allowing Bam to wrap Kane's knee around the ringpost. Chavo got caught in the corner and Kane took him to the mat with an electric chair.

Kane followed with a giant boot in the face. Kane came off the top rope with a flying clothesline on Chavo. Chavo came back with a Tornado DDT, then Chavo took the knee out from behind and climbed up top. Chavo hit a top rope frog splash, but Kane, caught him around the throat as he came down. Kane came to his feet and landed a big chokeslam in center ring for the pin and the win.

Now that the Big Red Machine has proven his championship reign is no fluke, will Chavo Guerrero back off? Or will he continue to make Kane’s life a living hell on ECW?

FANNING THE FLAME

Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - Greensboro, NC

source: Andrew Rote wwe.com - ECW fans were treated to a special addition of The Cutting Edge with Title Holder Kane as the guest of honor.

The host spent much of his time targeting the Big Red Machine’s difficult life and his dysfunctional family background, though, much to Kane’s surprise, Edge thanked him for ruining his wedding day with Lita and injuring him years later, leading Edge to meet the woman he's using now, Vickie Guerrero.

The Rated-R Superstar’s true intentions behind The Cutting Edge special were revealed when the “familia” - along with newly acquired bodyguard Bam Neely - attacked Kane.

The destruction seemed to last forever for the Big Red Machine, as the Rated-R Superstar and the self-proclaimed "Mexican Warrior" clearly had no intentions of waiting for Sunday. Along with Neely, Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder, Edge held Kane down as Guerrero went to work on his leg with a steel chair.

The team of Cheatem, Beatem and Run may have gotten their warning across to Kane and his brother, The Undertaker, but Kane had a message of his own to deliver.

Tuesday, April 15, 2008 - London, England

source: WWE.com - Tuesday night rounded out with a Match of Champions as ECW Champion Kane & World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker clashed with the WWE Tag Team Champions.

Since winning their respective titles at WrestleMania XXIV, Kane & The Undertaker have taken on all comers – including each other. In London, our U.K. fans were in for a treat as the brothers teamed up for the first time ever in ECW to take on Miz & Morrison. The battle was hard fought, but the Brothers of Destruction proved to be too much.

In their very first trip to the Land of the Extreme as a tandem, The Undertaker & Kane proved that they are focused and ready for their title defenses at Backlash. However, with a bout against Batista looming on Friday Night SmackDown for The Phenom – not to mention Backlash challengers Edge & Chavo Guerrero and the rest of the familia looming over their shoulders constantly – will the Brothers of Destruction be able to avoid the road to self-destruction?

BACK LASH Pre Lashin'

Tuesday, April 8, 2008 - Boston, MA

Before the ink could dry on the Backlash contract signed by ECW Champion Kane, his challenger, Chavo Guerrero, had other plans before putting pen to paper. First, he introduced a mysterious large man who will be watching Chavo's back at Backlash.

With Kane distracted by the unknown individual, Curt Hawkins, Zack Ryder & Guerrero launched a surprise attack on the champion. The mystery man then felled Kane with his own title, and to add further insult helped Hawkins & Ryder hold the Big Red Monster down on the contract table. Chavo took advantage of the vulnerable champion by leaping from the top rope onto Kane, smashing him through the table with a frog splash.

As the champion lay amongst the debris, Chavo sealed their rematch at Backlash with his signature and walked away as Kane glared after him. Later it was revealed that Kane will meet the crafty quartet again next week, but this time with Big Brother at his side.

KANE vs THE UNDERTAKER

photo: courtesy wwe.com

Friday, April 4, 2008 - Miami, FL

From wwe.com - Just days after winning the World Heavyweight Championship, Undertaker was thrust into action against his brother – the new ECW Champion, Kane. SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero made the match and later levied that if either champion refused to compete, they would be stripped of their title.

The Phenom and the Big Red Monster competed one-on-one, rekindling their sibling rivalry for the first time in years, both now wearing major championship gold. The hard-fought in-ring battle was reminiscent of the wars waged between Undertaker and Kane over the years – until their familiarity with each other left them prey for the Rated-R entourage.

After leveling each other in the center of the ring with duel Big Boots, Kane and Undertaker were attacked by Edge and his cronies and Chavo Guerrero. The former World Heavyweight and ECW champions were looking to send a clear message to the men they will challenge at Backlash: We want our gold back. But the Brothers of Destruction fought back, delivering stereo Chokeslams followed by stereo Tombstones to Edge and Guerrero.

The thwarted attack served notice to any Superstar who would challenge either champion – that both ECW Champion Kane and World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker are at the top of their game and don’t plan on giving up the gold any time soon. The failed assault also quieted the cocky Edge and Chavo, who both earlier in the night had vowed to Vickie Guerrero to win back their titles and restore glory to “la familia Guerrero.”

On SmackDown, however, the Rated-R Superstar and the “Mexican Warrior” learned the hard way that their dreams to regain what they believe to be their respective championships will have to go through hellfire – and those fires have never been hotter than they are now with Undertaker and Kane holding firmly on to their gold.

KANE & CM Punk vs Chavo & Shelton Benjamin

Tuesday, April 1, 2008 - Miami, FL

source: WWE.com - While some WWE Superstars, such as CM Punk and Kane, have been basking in the glow of what transpired on Sunday night in Orlando, Fla., many were experiencing the effects of a WrestleMania XXIV hangover, especially Chavo Guerrero. The self-proclaimed “Mexican Warrior” lost his ECW gold to the Big Red Machine, and it seems he won’t rest until he earns it back.

Finally, a retribution-seeking Guerrero teamed up with a vengeful Shelton Benjamin in tag team action against Kane & CM Punk. The new ECW Champion and Mr. Money in the Bank proved why they were victorious on Sunday at WrestleMania, picking up the win on ECW.
