KANE & ECW champion C.M. PUNK vs. DEUCE & DOMINO (w/Cherry)

ECW champion C.M. Punk came out to start the show. They're doing a tag match to start things off. Kane came out as his partner, then the Greasers came out as the opposition. They're doing Punk & Kane vs. Big Daddy V & Mark Henry at the PPV on Sunday.

Punk started things off with Domino, who shoved him across the chest. Punk answered with kicks to the gut before tagging out to Kane. Domino accepted an uppercut and back elbow from Kane for a nearfall. Punk came back in and the Greasers took control. Domino missed with a splash when Punk pulled the ropes down, then Punk made a tag to Kane.

Kane cleaned house, then he landed a top rope clothesline on Domino in center ring. The action broke down and the babyfaces executed their finishers - Go 2 Sleep and chokeslam - a few seconds off. Kane covered Domino for the win.

WINNERS: Kane & Punk

Backstage, Matt Striker stood comically behind Mark Henry and Big Daddy V's chest muscles. He built up the ECW tag match at the PPV. Daddy spoke and said Kane's decade of destruction ends at Armageddon. Henry said Punk has one option: run. Striker referenced the Bible about not worrying about tomorrow because today brings its own grief. That would be Matthew 6:34 from Striker. Henry and Daddy glared menacingly into the camera as Striker tied it together to the Armageddon PPV.

KANE vs. Edge

Only two things are clear about the situation surrounding Batista, Edge, Undertaker and the World Heavyweight Championship: Everybody hates everybody, and their building tensions will all come to a head at Armageddon.

Nine nights before he tries to reclaim the gold, however, Edge had a chance at retribution of a different kind. When the Rated-R Superstar interrupted Theodore Long’s show-opening address to remind him that he was now SmackDown’s Assistant General Manager and complain about Long’s recent matchmaking, little did he know that Long would give him something he craved: A match with Kane, the Superstar who put him out of action with a torn pectoral muscle back in July.

With guest commentator Batista – who had defeated Elijah Burke earlier in the night – looking on from the announcers’ desk, the stage was set, but when the Big Red Monster made his way to the ring, he didn’t seem to have any heart – or sympathy – for Edge’s plight. Kane wisely focused his attack on Edge’s left arm and pectoral area, the same that had been injured back in July.

Late in the match, after Kane’s flying clothesline sent him hurtling to the arena floor, a seemingly fed-up Rated-R Superstar reached for some reinforcement. He introduced a chair into the action, prompting the referee to call for the bell and throw the match out. Kane and Edge fought over the steel seat, with the Big Red Monster twice whacking Edge with it.

When the Big Red Monster tried to bring more steel – this time the ring stairs – into play, the Ultimate Opportunist seized the advantage and speared the seven-footer. But when he set up for a Con-Chair-To using the stairs as a base, Batista decided he’d seen enough and bolted into the ring to halt Edge’s assault.

That’s when things really got out of hand.

The lights went out at the sound of the familiar gong, and when they reset, Undertaker was in the ring holding Edge by the throat. Seeing The Phenom in the ring – and a chance to get some payback of his own for last week’s chokeslam – Batista charged and dropped Undertaker with a vicious spear. Meanwhile, Edge hightailed it out of Dodge, for the second consecutive week, escaping trouble. This time, both Brothers of Destruction were left prone on the mat as the angry World Heavyweight Champion glared at the retreating Edge.

UNFINISHED EXTREME BUSINESS

It appeared that any choice CM Punk made on ECW on Sci Fi was going to be a painful one, until the Big Red Machine came to exact retribution on the gargantuan duo of Big Daddy V and Mark Henry. By the end of the night, it seemed the aligned behemoths may have been the ones who made a critical choice – a wrong one – when they attacked Kane a week earlier. (WATCH)

It was to be the “Champion’s Choice,” where the Straightedge Superstar would answer the challenge of either the 500-pound beast known by the letter “V” or the World’s Strongest Man from SmackDown. With all signs illuminating a no-win situation for Punk, the ECW Champion abandoned choice and threw caution to the winds of chance.

No matter what, the Straightedge Superstar was prepared to compete against either giant, and opted to leave the decision in the sinister hands of Matt Striker. A coin toss later, the ring bell sounded to commence a competitive contest between Punk and the World’s Strongest Man.

Clearly outsized and overpowered, CM Punk fought and kept his head above water during the taxing encounter. Averting near decapitation from Henry’s repeated clotheslines and crushing body blows, the ECW Champion still sustained a steady attack of quick kicks.

The educated feet of Punk, however, only got him so far until the lingering 500-pound mastodon outside the ring got involved. Wedged between both The Dominating Force in WWE and the self-touted king of the SmackDown jungle, the champion earned a victory by disqualification, but fell to the Titanic-sized pair.

Suddenly, a fiery blaze signaled the intervention of Kane, who was similarly victimized by this oversized ogres on the previous edition on ECW on Sci Fi. Just more than one week ago, the quarter-ton titans obliterated the Big Red Monster in the final moments of his Extreme Rules Match against Big Daddy V. Given the intent in the big booted stride of Kane, the destructive SmackDown Superstar was seeking – physical – reprisal.

Wielding a steel chair, the frenzied 7-footer advanced toward the battle to the aid of the Straightedge Champion. The Big Red Machine dueled weapons with Big Daddy and Henry (who also bore chairs), blasting the Extreme Mastodon and causing his other foe to flee.

Fortunately for CM Punk, the odds were evened up on ECW on Sci Fi. Otherwise, the combined brutality of Striker’s assemblage may have yielded permanent damage to the ECW Champion and possibly jeopardized his reign. Though Kane thwarted any additional injury, connecting cold steel with the vast back of Big Daddy V will likely not be enough for the Big Red Monster.

What lies ahead for these four individuals? And what implications does it have on WWE’s next pay-per-view extravaganza, Armageddon?

In the arena:

Matt Striker was in the ring, and says he has some bad news to start. Big Daddy V was not present, most likely due to the flu. Striker said that was a good reminder for everyone to be inoculated. All friendly advise aside, this Sunday, the most dominant force in the WWE will be at Survivor Series. Big Daddy V will dominate Rey Mysterio, he will dominate the Hardy Boyz, he will dominate Kane as well as the Game, Triple H. Big Daddy V will dominate them all.

Kane's music hit, he was on his way to the ring. Striker began to jibber.

“Hang on, just listen, look, I’m not here, I’m not dressed to fight. Your issue is not with me; I’m only here by proxy. Your issue is with Big Daddy V and if you hurt me you’ll only anger him more, just walk away.”

Kane answers Striker with a boot to the face followed by a side slam. Striker gets up and Kane sends Striker down with a vicious looking Choke Slam. Kane lit the night with his pyro as he stood over Striker.

ECW's MONSTER MASH BATTLE ROYAL

ECW on SCI-FI
OCTOBER 30, 2007
Long Island , NY
Aired on The SCI-FI Channel
results by: Mike Johnson (PWInsider.com)

Kane did a promo about how he has been facing "monsters" his whole life, and that the Monster Mash Battle Royale, for him, was a "dream come true".

Monster Mash Battle Royale: Kane vs. Mark Henry vs. Big Daddy V vs. Great Khali.

Everyone seemed to agree to gang up on Kane to start the match, but Henry and BDV were soon disagreeing and began slugging each other while Khali worked over Kane in a corner. BDV and Henry ran into each other and both men went down from simultaneous clotheslines. Kane went for a chokeslam on Khali, but Khali shoved it away and hit a boot to the face. Henry actually lifted Khali, but BDV hit him. Lots of clubbering all around. BDV gave Kane the worst sidewalk slam ever. Khali and Henry went at it in one corner, while Kane and BDV fought in the other. BDV ended up avalanching Khali and Henry together in a corner, then went back to work on Kane. BDV missed an avalanche on Kane in a corner, and Kane hit a clothesline, then shoved BDV over the top rope to eliminate him.

Big Daddy V is eliminated.

Khali put Kane in the Vice Grip, but Henry hit him, so Khali put Henry in the vice grip. Henry and Kane pounded Khali, then sent him over the top rope with a double clothesline.

The Great Khali is eliminated.

Kane hit Henry with a forearm and tried to lift him for a slam, but couldn't do it. Henry it some punches, then ran into a Kane boot to the face. Kane went to the top rope, but jumped into Henry's bear hug. Henry then flung Kane over the top rope to eliminate him, and win the match, at the four minute mark.

Kane is eliminated.

Winner: Mark Henry. [ video]  [photos]

ELEMENT OF SURPRISE

CYBER SUNDAY
OCTOBER 28, 2007
Washington, D.C.
The Verizon Center
results by: Richard Gray

Ladies and gentlemen welcome to the Verizon Center in Washington D.C. We are live and I am Richard Gray, your host for the next three hours! The pyros explode in the arena as the official theme music for the pay-per-view plays. We go to crowd shots as Michael Cole gives us the official welcome.

Backstage Segment - Matt Hardy/MVP

Michael Cole says that there is a possibility that Matt Hardy will not be able to compete tonight due to an injury suffered in his match on SmackDown. They show images of Hardy's injury and backstage photos of him getting medical attention.

We go backstage to Matt Hardy and MVP. MVP says he knows Hardy is disappointed and that he is disappointed too. MVP says he agrees with the medical professionals not clearing him to compete tonight. MVP says that Hardy is his tag team partner and his friend and he doesn't want him to have any complications from his injury.

MVP says he is ready to go. Matt says well apparently that is what Vickie Guerrero thought too. He says that he heard MVP is still going to be competing tonight. Hardy says that MVP will be competing tonight for the United States Championship against Mark Henry, The Great Khali, or Kane. MVP looks stunned and says he has to go talk to Vickie.

We go to Michael Cole and JBL talking about how much fun Cyber Sunday is. They put over tonight's newly added match between MVP and the choice of either Mark Henry, The Great Khali, or Kane. Cole votes on the air for Kane.

The forthcoming match is for the WWE United States Championship. MVP is out first as he awaits his opponent.

We go back to Todd Grisham who is accompanied by SmackDown's General Manager Vickie Guerrero. We go to a shot of Mark Henry, The Great Khali, and Kane backstage. Kane is announced as MVP's opponent for the United States Championship.

MVP vs. Kane

Kane’s music hits as he makes his way to ringside. The referee holds up the United States Championship. The bell rings and we are underway. Kane goes quickly for MVP as he jumps out of the ring. MVP removes his shirt on the outside. The referee starts counting him out.

MVP gets in the ring and goes right to work on Kane with right hands. Kane connects a huge boot to the face of MVP followed by a couple of splashes into the ropes. Kane nails a sideslam and a two count.

Kane goes to the top turnbuckle but MVP hits him in the ribs. MVP goes on the offensive, Kane is in obvious pain. MVP nails a big boot to the Kane's face and gets a two count. MVP continues his attack but it doesn't last much longer as Kane takes out his legs. Kane goes to work on MVP's ribs.

Kane stomps the throat of MVP as he brings him to his feet. Kane nails a backbreaker slam on the United States Champion. He continues to boot MVP in the face as he picks him up and drives him into the corner. Kane delivers his shoulder's to MVP's gut as Kane asks him how he likes it.

Kane hits some more kicks sending MVP down. Kane goes to the outside, working on the ribs of MVP who is still in the ring. The referee makes him break the maneuver but the damage has been done as MVP regroups on the outside. The referee starts to count him out.

MVP remains on the outside getting himself counted out but the championship does not change hands. Winner - Kane (via count out, MVP retains US Championship)

Kane stares down MVP who's still on the outside. Once again Kane won the match via count-out meaning MVP is still the WWE United States Champion.  [photos]

OH HENRY - KANE CAN DO!

SMACKDOWN!
OCTOBER 26, 2007
KANSAS CITY, MO
Aired on The CWB
8:00 pm

From WWE.COM - SmackDown’s Kane and Mark Henry faced off last Friday, in Henry’s first action since his loss to Undertaker four weeks ago. The Big Red Monster, meanwhile, was coming off his second appearance on ECW on Sci Fi, when the World’s Strongest Man and The Great Khali interrupted his match with Big Daddy V.

Kane defeated the self-proclaimed Silverback with a chokeslam, and the fiery Superstar hopes to carry that momentum when he again invades the Land of the Extreme this Tuesday night. The four behemoths are set to meet in a Monster Mash Battle Royal with each hoping to be named the true monster of sports-entertainment on the eve of Halloween.  [ more]  [photos]

CLASH OF THE TITANS

KANE on ECW 10232007

From WWE.COM - The Big Red Machine made his second straight ECW on Sci Fi appearance Tuesday night when he took on one of the participants in the race for an ECW Title opportunity against CM Punk – Big Daddy V.

The two monsters met in the ring last week when Kane and Punk faced Daddy, The Miz & John Morrison in a 3-on-2 Handicap Match. Kane and Big Daddy V’s altercation certainly foreshadowed a contest of colossal proportions for this week; however, no one was able to see the climax of their clash. During the match, Mark Henry marched out to the squared circle in an attempt to shake the Land of the Extreme even more than his fellow fiery SmackDown Superstar has. The crowd of three in the ring quickly became a party of four when The Great Khali joined the other giants. Kane was the man left standing, but this was only the beginning. [video][photos][more]

KANE REACTION

SMACKDOWN!
OCTOBER 19, 2007
Birmingham , UK
Aired on The CWB
8:00 pm

From WWE.COM -
After invading the Land of the Extreme earlier in the week, Kane returned to Friday Night SmackDown to face The Great Khali. Wasting little time, The Punjab Giant gave the Big Red Monster a not-so-warm welcome back, getting disqualified for using a cable to try and decimate Kane. As Kane recovered from the attack by Khali, ECW’s Big Daddy V made his way to the ring, looking for retribution against the Big Red Monster for his involvement as CM Punk’s partner on ECW on Sci Fi. The Dominating Force in WWE laid waste to Kane, and made it known that the working partnership between SmackDown’s Acting GM Vickie Guerrero and ECW’s man in charge, Armando Estrada, has opened the gates for his personal path of destruction. [ vid]  [photos]

OCTOBER 16, 2007
Birmingham , UK
Aired on The SciFi Channel
8:00 pm

From WWE.COM - The Land of the Extreme was stunned when Kane appeared last Tuesday as the tag team partner of ECW Champion CM Punk.  Earlier in the day, WWE.com announced Vickie Guerrero and Armando Estrada were negotiating a deal enabling Superstars from both brands to appear on both shows. The Big Red Monster’s presence as CM Punk’s handpicked partner against the ECW Title Cyber Sunday candidates, Big Daddy V, The Miz and John Morrison, could have been a sign that this deal is sealed.

SmackDown’s monster ignited the evening, turning Morrison and The Miz against each other, sealing the victory for his team with a devastating chokeslam on the self-proclaimed "chick magnet."   [vid]   [photos]

From WWE.COM - WWE Tag Team Champions Matt Hardy & MVP shook hands and agreed to get on the same page before they stepped into the ring with the Brothers of Destruction, The Undertaker & Kane. But once they faced the fires of hell in their non-title match, both Hardy and MVP had very different ideas about what being on the same page meant.

Despite the fact the brothers haven't worked together in over a year, Kane & Undertaker didn't miss a beat, handily defeating Matt Hardy & MVP.  [Read the full story . . .]

From WWE.COM - Kane was also on the winning track this week, dominating the self-proclaimed “Future Hall of Famer” Kenny Dykstra. Even the presence of his girlfriend, Victoria, outside the ring couldn’t help poor Dykstra, whose recent hard luck continued when he succumbed to a vicious chokeslam.

Moments after the match ended, our fans saw Vickie Guerrero make a blockbuster tag team match for next week, pitting MVP & Matt Hardy against Kane & The Undertaker.

KANE over World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali by DQ

9/11 - 9/13 SummerSlam Tour in Spain
Madrid, Valencia & Barcelona

KANE took on Mark Henry in Madrid and Valencia, taking a win via DQ:
Mark Henry is impressive to see live. Crowd booed him big time. Kane’s out next. He was born in Madrid, so he was way over. The match had Kane try and slam Mark Henry several times, but he could never get it done. In the end, The Big Red Machine hits the Turnbuckle Clothesline and a huge Bodyslam, but before he could put Henry away with the Chokeslam, The World’s Strongest Man hit a Low Blow and the referee DQ’ed him. Kane then stopper Henry from nailing him with a steel chair and finally hit the Chokeslam.

WINNER: Kane (DQ)

I hated the finish but the crowd didn’t really complain. Kane posed around for a while and left.

Kane defeated Finlay despite interference from Hornswoggle.

9/30 Hammond, IN
Hammond Civic Center

Kane pinned Finlay. Finlay spent the majority of the first 5 minutes jawing at practically every fan sitting at ringside, while Kane meandered around the ring. (Finlay carried his shillelagh, but nobody had the heart to tell him Purdue owns that thing after whooping up on the Irish Saturday afternoon.) The fans were riled up when the Irishman picked a fight with a huge fan that could rival Mark Henry size-wise.

After a while, the match finally hit the ring with Kane getting off a quick offense of punching. They spilled outside the ring where Kane slammed Finlay into the ring apron and guard railing. Finlay reversed a Kane whip into the ring post that sent the Big Red Machine flailing into the ring steps, injuring Kane's left knee. The match got back into the ring, where the man 'who loves to fight', worked over Kane's knee the majority of the match. A lot of 'you suck' chants came from all corners of the hallowed building (smattered with some 'Go Kane Go! chants), which eventually built Kane up to hit a couple of clotheslines in the corner. After a side slam, Kane scaled the ropes and hit his flying clothesline, knocking out Finlay to the delight of the fans.

Hornswaggle puttered to the ring to try and attack Kane from behind, but the big guy turned around and saw the former Cruiserweight champion. Hornswaggle begged off in a way to make the 'Nature Boy' proud, then Kane dropped to his knees to make the fight a little fair. He still towered over McMahon's bastard son by a head. Hornswoggle McMahon trys and fails to chokeslam Kane. Hornswaggle tried to make peace by putting his green derby on Kane's head. Kane stood up and kicked Hornswaggle away, then Finlay miraculously recovered and hit Kane with his shillelagh in the bad knee. After a quick two count, Kane popped up (still wearing the derby, mind you) and got mad. Between Hornswaggle and Finlay, each would try to distract the referee, but Kane eventually hit Finlay with a chokeslam for the win. Kane teased tossing the hat to the fans, then just kept it on, limping back to the curtain. Finlay stuck around to kick Hornswaggle in the boiler. The little guy popped Finlay in the 'lower abdominal area' (as Gorilla Monsoon would say), and scurried off.

Note: Some of the wrestlers were there pretty early. Ricky the Dragon Steamboat signed a lot of autographs for us as did Kane. (credit: wrestlingobserver)

Well, KANE wasn't in this PPV - at least not in the televised show. But he WAS in the dark-match, which we TV viewers used to be able to see on Sunday Night Heat way back when. I scoured the web for some play-by-play, but only came up with this:

The beautiful FedEx Forum was packed to the rafters & the crowd was ALL THE WAY LIVE the entire night.

The dark match was Kenny vs KANE, which was pretty damned good - it came off like it should've been on the PPV. Once Kane's pyro hit, the fans were on their feet chanting Kane's name. Kane was victorious with a choke slam. - Jimmy Washington, wrestlingobserver reader

SEPTEMBER 14, 2007
Minneapolis, MN

From WWE.COM - Kane, who was in action against Finlay in WWE’s first-ever Belfast Brawl. The brutal rivalry between these two Superstars reached a whole new level Friday night, as the Big Red Monster and the Irishman, quite frankly, beat the living hell out of each other. Late in the grueling contest, Kane seemed to gain the advantage and readied himself to use the steel steps as a weapon. But Finlay would neutralize the threat with a steel chair to the monster’s ribs, then picked up the victory with a devastating Celtic Cross.

From WWE.COM - Summer may be unofficially over after Labor Day, but the first Friday Night SmackDown after the holiday weekend proved that tensions remain hotter than ever as Unforgiven approaches. SHILLELAGH SHENANIGANS

SMACKDOWN!
AUGUST 31, 2007
Albany, NY
Aired on The WC
8:00 pm

KANE was one of four men chosen by Teddy Long to participate in a challenge for the No. 1 Contender spot against Khali at Unforgiven in September. It would be KANE vs Finlay, and Batista vs Rey Mysterio - the winners of these bouts to go up against each other.

KANE, sans bandage wrap, took up Finlay's shillelagh and looked to be about to use it, but decided to send it sailing up the aisle where the Irish Bruiser couldn't easily get at it. KANE dominates the match easily in the beginning, but Finlay turns things around outside the ring, driving KANE into the steel steps then going to work on his already injured ribs. Finaly gets three attempts to pin KANE, but the Big Guy battles back and seems to have the match in hand when Hornswoggle climbs the ring apron and gets the ref's attention, followed by KANE's! Finlay takes the opportunity to snatch up the shillelagh Hornswoggle had supplied earlier in the match and lambs KANE upside the head with it. KANE went DOWN, Finlay takes the pin and a controversial win. BAH!

SUMMERSLAM!

PAY-PER-VIEW
AUGUST 26, 2007
East Rutherford, NJ

KANE fought through injured ribs, two shillelaghs and a short appearance by Hornswoggle, to kick off the Biggest Party of the Summer and defeat the fighting Irishman Finlay with a thunderous chokeslam.

While Kane began the match as a proverbial house of fire, all it took was one shot to those injured ribs to stop the Big Red Monster in his tracks. After one particular assault, Finlay pulled back the ring apron to let Hornswoggle scamper out from under the squared circle – and that’s actually where the “luck of the Irish” left them. As Finlay pushed the Cruiserweight Champion into the ring, Kane sat up, causing the pint-sized pugilist to flee; the momentary distraction allowed Kane to go for the chokeslam, but his rib injury rendered him unable to lift the fighting Irishman.

Since Hornswoggle didn’t work, Finlay decided to use his shillelagh against Kane. The Big Red Monster saw the attempt and thwarted it, but when the referee turned his back to clear the first shillelagh from the ring, Hornswoggle made his second cameo of the night, popping out to give Finlay another, which he used to blast Kane in the ribs. Somehow, though, Kane found the strength to kick out of Finlay’s pinfall attempt.

Moments later, after Finlay ran himself into the ringpost, Kane went for the chokeslam again; this time, he mustered the strength to lift the fighting Irishman. One chokeslam and three seconds later, Kane was the first to notch a victory at the Biggest Party of the Summer.

While Kane’s victory may make him a party pooper in Finlay’s mind, the Big Red Monster finally seems to have gained some retribution for his recent misfortunes.

DADDY'S MAYBE?

SMACKDOWN!

AUGUST 24, 2007
Columbia, SC

Mr. McMahon was on SmackDown! Friday night with the hopes of finding any clues to the identity of his illegitimate son. Instead, the Chairman encountered a slew of Superstars claiming to be his offspring, including KANE. At first, Vince insisted that there was no way “this monster” could be his offspring, but after KANE demanded, and received, a one-on-one encounter with Finlay at the Biggest Party of the Summer, it looked as if Mr. McMahon was warming to the idea.

That is, until Chris Masters made his way to the ring with claims of his own and a demand of KANE to take the Master Lock Challenge. Instead, he was chokeslammed by the Big Red Monster, much to the disappointment of Mr. McMahon.

SATURDAY NIGHT MAIN EVENT

AUGUST 18, 2007
New York, NY
Aired on NBC
12:30 am

WWE’s return to NBC Saturday night saw the return of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, who laid into Vince McMahon both verbally and physically, and a featured tag team match between KANE & Batista and Khali & Finaly.

Batista & Kane kicked off the show, taking on their respective rivals, The Great Khali & Finlay. While the World Heavyweight Champion has had an edge over The Animal recently, squeezing his head like a grape on SmackDown, Batista had the Big Red Machine to help his cause this time. During the contest, Batista & Kane gave The Great Khali a taste of his own medicine, burying him with a double chokeslam.

Kane had the chance to exorcise some of his own demons as well. He and Batista were able to do what millions of kids try to do unsuccessfully every March 17 – catch a leprechaun. They made the most out of their accomplishment, using Hornswoggle as a battering ram on the Indian giant. When Batista & Kane were done dominating their opponents, The Animal put the cherry on top with a Batista Bomb and a three-count at Finlay’s expense.

WRESTLEMANIA REMATCH

SMACKDOWN!

AUGUST 17, 2007
Uncaseville, CT

Wrestling fans at the Mohegan Sun Casino will see World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali vs. Kane in a WrestleMania rematch. Khali has already expressed his displeasure at having to fight Kane tonight.

During the Finlay/Noble match, KANE's pyro hit out of nowhere. KANE, ribs taped, made his way to the ring. Finlay went after him with the shilleleigh but KANE fought him off, bringing the match to a close in a "no contest". KANE nailed a big boot to Finlay and then went for the chokeslam but then Noble took over on Finlay with some stomps. KANE shoved Noble out of the way but then Hornswoggle got into the ring and shoved Noble into KANE who then hit the chokeslam on Jamie as Finlay escaped.

Backstage, McMahon greets Jimmy Wang Yang and Yang says he's McMahon's boy. Funaki chimes in as Kane comes up behind Vince and Coach with a demonic laugh, puts his hand on McMahon's shoulder and calls him "Dad!" McMahon smirks and gives Coach with a "Ain't NO way" look while Kane continues laughing.

Despite having a battered rib cage, the Big Red Machine fought hard. Unfortunately, his attempt to chokeslam the 7-foot-3 colossus was stopped short as his skull was forcefully clutched in Khali’s Vise Grip. With Kane on his knees, Finlay found a golden opportunity for revenge against KANE's attack earlier that night, and attacked his ribs. The Animal BATISTA makes the save as he hit the ring to nail a spinebuster of Finlay followed by a spear to the gut of Khali!

KANE must have been feeling a strange sense of de'javu as he found himself doused with hot coffee while making his way through the backstage area of the Chevrolet Centre. In a huff at Jamie Noble for attacking Hornswoggle during his match, Finlay had slapped the cup of coffee from Shannon Moore's hand. KANE laid into Finlay, tossing him around like a rag-doll, leaving the Fighting-Irishman in a heap before continuing on his way to his match ~

KANE vs Sylvan Grainer
KANE tormented the newly returned grappler in a sick game of cat and mouse until he tired of the game and ended it with a decimating Chokeslam to get the victory.

No sooner had Kane been declared the winner, however, when Finlay stormed into the ring and, using the shillelagh like a weapon, pummeled the Big Red Machine to the canvas! By the time two more refs had entered to ring to stop the raging Finlay, KANE was a writhing mass of pain. Finaly finally left the ring as KANE stared expressionlessly after him. Are we going to see a renewed feud between these two?

At the show's opening, Teddy Long and his bride-to-be, Kristal, announced in the ring they would marry ON SmackDown! Friday, September 21st. Khali interrupted, scaring Kristal, which infurriated Long into announcing the Khali would face Batista at Summerslam! As Khali and Runjin Singh protested, KANE made his explosive entrance . . . And they went to commercial!

Back from the ill-timed station break, KANE squared off against Chris Masters. While The Masterpiece had a few chances to apply the Master Lock on the Big Red Machine, KANE escaped the hold each time, ending the match with a resounding chokeslam on Masters for the win.

AFTER BASH

SMACKDOWN!
JULY 27, 2007
Fresno, CA
Aired on The WC
8:00 pm

KANE squared off against Dave Taylor in a short lived match. While The Big Red Machine showed just how much he loves inflicting pain, Taylor's punches show little effect. Taylor got caught with a boot coming off the ropes, but came back going to town on KANE's midsection and ending with a headbutt to the gut.

After Kane tossed Taylor aside, the Brit went back for more, receiving a shoulder to the gut and a head jarring from KANE's running clothesline for his trouble. 3 minutes and seventeen seconds into the match, KANE had had enough and ended the match with a flying clothesline off the top followed by the Chokeslam for the win.

MONSTER BASH

SMACKDOWN!
JULY 20, 2007
Laredo, TX
Aired on The WC
8:00 pm

The prowerstling world has seen more than it's share of shock and awe the past few weeks, and this week fans were set aghast when the RatedR Superstar announced he'd received an injury that would have Ted Long stripping him of his Title on SmackDown! More gasps would escape a multitude of lips as The Great Khali ended up holding the Title, with KANE and Batista joining him in the ring at The Great American Bash this Sunday in a Triple Threat Match for the Championship.

You'd have thought it would have been KANE, since he was the No. 1 Contender, issuing a challenge to anyone for the World Heavyweight Title. And it would have made sense that Batista, now out from under the ruling that he couldn't go after the Title as long as Edge had it, would have opted in.

But no. In his infinite wisdom, Long announced there'd be a 20 Man Battle Royale and - after one of the strongest multi-man matches in years - it came down to KANE, Batista and Khali. While KANE and Batista tried to take each other out, Khali trumped them both and sent them toppling. What a SHOCKER!

Next, Long and Vickie decided that KANE, the No. 1 Contender, and Batista, as the original contracted opponent of the Great Khali, should battle it out to see who take on Khali at the Bash for the World Heavyweight Championship. KANE and Batista went at each other, holding nothing back, until Khali entered the ring and got himself toppled out - resulting in a DQ.

Now, it looks like it will be a Triple Threat Match for Title Gold this Sunday at The Great American Bash! Which one off these monstrous Superstars will stand the winner?

Mardi Gras Madness in July

With good reason! For two hours KANE stalked his Great American Bash opponent through the locker room area, ending up - unbeknownst to Edge - under the guise of the giant Mardi Gras king in the RatedR superstar's parade characters!

With patience of a preditor, KANE waited until Edge's spidey sense got the better of him to the point where he attacked the giant Mardi Gras queen. KANE then lifted off the giant head and went after Edge, stripping off the costume even as he pummeled the present Champion. Edge escaped as the other revelers took turns at KANE, only to be laid low 'til there was no one left in the ring save The Big Red Machine. As KANE raised his arms to bring up the pyros, Edge, wild-eyed, bellowed that KANE was his, and he'd never get the title.

Shortly there after, KANE told WWE's Craig Tello, “I don’t like him. I really, really, really don’t like [Edge],” Kane reiterated, his brow lowering to forge a hostile glare. “It’s not unique amongst anybody here at WWE because nobody really likes him, but I have a special loathing for Edge because over the years, our relationship has become very personal.” Click here to read more...

KANE Goes for the Title at Great American Bash

STOKIN' THE FIRE
JULY 07, 2007
Dallas, TX

Edge's bravado isn't cutting it after learning he will be defending his title against KANE at The Great American Bash.

WWE has an article up titled: Edge Rated-iRate over championship match with Kane by Bryan Robinson, written moments after KANE menacingly set off his pyros to punctuate Teddy Long's announcement. Click on the above image to read . . .

CUTTING EDGE KANED

SMACKDOWN!
JULY 06, 2007
Dallas, TX
Aired on The WC
8:00 pm

Much to the surprise of the Rated-R-Superstar host, tonight's guest on The Cutting Edge was none other than our fave - KANE! By the look on his face as KANE made his way to the ring, there was no doubt this was one interview Edge would rather not give. But . . .

After KANE reached out to bat away the director's chair that was in his way, Edge sought to soften up the man-mountian by listing his achievements. Edge brought up SEE NO EVIL, saying it was a huge success - this brought a little upward tightening to the outer edges of KANE's mouth. Edge went on, pointing out that this is 2007, and that would mean come October it would be 10 YEARS OF DOMINANCE for the Big Guy. KANE just stared at Edge. Yep, KANE had beaten everyone in the WWE there was to beat, Edge continued, and had a impressive resume of titles won, but that didn't stack up to Edge's own accomplishments - the sound of 10 YEARS OF DOMINATION didn't roll off the tongue as well as The RatedR Era . . .

Edge seemed to catch himself in the middle of running down his own wrestling resume - glancing up at KANE, whose face was now a mask of intense warning, before looking at his watch and declaring that they were out of time. He quickly thanked KANE for being a guest, told the crowd to tip the waitresses on their way out, and stepped around KANE.

But time hadn't run out in the segment according to KANE. As Edge moved by, KANE reached back and grabbed his arm. For a moment in time they stood - KANE facing forward, his hand on Edge's arm, Edge frozen, facing in the opposite direction, head up, eyes beseeching some unknown protector. KANE brought Edge back around to face him, leaned in and uttered the only words we'd hear from him that night. Four little fear inducing words - "I - don't - LIKE - you." Then he smiled - that smile that makes you think he's lost his ever-lovin' mind. That smile turned into a grin, you know, the one where your brain screams at you to move as your heart goes into a staccato beat your feet should be imitating but have turned into concrete slabs that won't move.

In the blink of an eye, KANE landed a blow on Edge that sent the title belt flying off his shoulder and Edge reeling. KANE grasped the stunned host by the throat, tossed him over the top rope and out of the ring. Edge scrambled up the ramp squawking at KANE, telling him he'd done it - he'd never be on The Cutting Edge again - KANE'd NEVER step foot inside the ring with him again!

Teddy Long came out then. A little birdie'd told him Edge didn't want to wrestle tonight, so he'd set up The Cutting Edge with KANE as the special guest so the two of them could get to know each other better. Because at The Great American Bash, KANE would be challenging Edge for the title! As Edge watched in stupified disbelief, KANE offered a satisfied, if minacious, grin before bringing up the fire ~

KANE VS. MVP (NonTitle Match)

SMACKDOWN!

JUNE 29, 2007
San Antonio, TX
Aired on The WC
8:00 pm

KANE's entrance couldn't have come at a better time as MVP spouted hot air before a hot San Antonio crowd. We can thank acting General Manager Vickie Guerrero Vickie for this treat! TV viewers haven't seen KANE since One Night Stand when Mark Henry attempted to squeeze the life out of him, so the pops for the Big Guy were huge and genuine - two fold!

MVP showed no apprehension at taking on the Big Red Machine, since having some unforgetable experiences singed upon his - uh - brain. One thing he forgot - never use the same moves on KANE in one bout . . . if KANE can anticipate your next move, you're done for! On his third attempt at the running-boot, MVP found himself hung-up in KANE's grip, then crashing to the mat from KANE's powerful chokeslam. Winner - KANE!

KANE CRUSHED

ONE NIGHT STAND

KANE VS. Mark Henry: Lumberjack Match

KANE and Mark Henry faced each other in a ring surrounded by WWE and ECW Superstars for a match for dominance at One Night Stand. With the help of interfereing LumberJacks - Kenny Dykstra and Chavo Guerrero - and some well several thwarted pin attempts on the self proclaimed 'SilverBack', KANE was worn down enough for Henry to take the win with a devastating BearHug.

Lumberjacks- Chris Benoit, Val Venis, Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella, Balls Mahoney, Stevie Richards, The Miz, Kevin Thorne, "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters, Johnny Nitro, Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero, Kenny Dykstra, and Carlito  [1NightStand] [photos] [read]

BRAWN vs BRAWN

SmackDown!

JUNE 1, 2007
London, Ontario
Aired on The WC
8:00 pm

KANE VS. Mark Henry
KANE met the behemoth Mark Henry head on in this week's episode of SmackDown!, and though he suffered a loss - by count out - he gained the opportunity to battle the "Silver Back" this Sunday at ONE NIGHT STAND.

The match saw Henry frequently frustrated in his inability to keep KANE down for a pin, leaving the ring to regain his bearings while the Big Red Monster looked on. KANE found himself flipped in midair as easily as paper in the wind, an uncommon occurance for the Big Guy and though his dead-on flying clothesline toppled the massive Henry, a winning pin for KANE wasn't to be. In the end, Henry forced KANE out of the ring and with a lung-squeezing bear-hug, made sure he didn't make it back in by the count of ten.

Will KANE be able to put the "Silver Back" down in a LumberJack Match at ONE NIGHT STAND?  [watch] [read] [1NightStand].

This week, William Regal took a shot at the Big Red Monster.  Having Taylor in his corner was little help since both the Boogeyman and Lil' Boogeyman had KANE's back.   Regal put up a good fight, but in the end KANE stood victorious.
