A TITLE-LESS WIN: BY DQ

SMACKDOWN!
SEPTEMBER 28, 2007
Indianapolis, IN
Aired on The WC
8:00 pm

From WWE.COM - Matt Hardy visited his co-champion MVP bearing gifts one of which was the gift of competition, in the formidable form of Kane. A shocked MVP entered the match with his own game plan, and when Kane looked for the chokeslam to seal the victory, the Franchise Playa kicked the Big Red Monster in the family bling, resulting in a life-saving disqualification.

PAY-PER-VIEW

SEPTEMBER 16, 2007
MEMPHIS, TN
FEDEX FORUM

Well, KANE wasn't in this PPV - at least not in the televised show. But he WAS in the dark-match, which we TV viewers used to be able to see on Sunday Night Heat way back when. I scoured the web for some play-by-play, but only came up with this:

The beautiful FedEx Forum was packed to the rafters & the crowd was ALL THE WAY LIVE the entire night.

The dark match was Kenny vs KANE, which was pretty damned good - it came off like it should've been on the PPV. Once Kane's pyro hit, the fans were on their feet chanting Kane's name. Kane was victorious with a choke slam. - Jimmy Washington, wrestlingobserver reader

BELFAST BRAWL

Finaly has KANE downSmackDown!

SEPTEMBER 14, 2007
Minneapolis, MN

From WWE.COM - Kane, who was in action against Finlay in WWE’s first-ever Belfast Brawl. The brutal rivalry between these two Superstars reached a whole new level Friday night, as the Big Red Monster and the Irishman, quite frankly, beat the living hell out of each other. Late in the grueling contest, Kane seemed to gain the advantage and readied himself to use the steel steps as a weapon. But Finlay would neutralize the threat with a steel chair to the monster’s ribs, then picked up the victory with a devastating Celtic Cross.

BEHEMOTHS BRAWL

8:00 pm

From WWE.COM - Summer may be unofficially over after Labor Day, but the first Friday Night SmackDown after the holiday weekend proved that tensions remain hotter than ever as Unforgiven approaches. What started with a main-event pair of grudge rematches in the Queen City this week ended with a potential harbinger of what lies ahead at the pay-per-view extravaganza on Sept. 16.

In the first of the grudge rematches, Batista & Kane once again defeated World Heavyweight Champion The Great Khali & Finlay, just as they did last month at Saturday Night’s Main Event. [photos] [more]

SHILLELAGH SHENANIGANS

SMACKDOWN!
AUGUST 31, 2007
Albany, NY
Aired on The WC
8:00 pm

KANE was one of four men chosen by Teddy Long to participate in a challenge for the No. 1 Contender spot against Khali at Unforgiven in September. It would be KANE vs Finlay, and Batista vs Rey Mysterio - the winners of these bouts to go up against each other.

KANE, sans bandage wrap, took up Finlay's shillelagh and looked to be about to use it, but decided to send it sailing up the aisle where the Irish Bruiser couldn't easily get at it. KANE dominates the match easily in the beginning, but Finlay turns things around outside the ring, driving KANE into the steel steps then going to work on his already injured ribs. Finaly gets three attempts to pin KANE, but the Big Guy battles back and seems to have the match in hand when Hornswoggle climbs the ring apron and gets the ref's attention, followed by KANE's! Finlay takes the opportunity to snatch up the shillelagh Hornswoggle had supplied earlier in the match and lambs KANE upside the head with it. KANE went DOWN, Finlay takes the pin and a controversial win. BAH!
