WWE FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN!

No. 1 Contender Fatal Four Way Elimination Match
photo: courtesy wwe.com

Friday, May 1, 2009 -

source: WWE.com - Jeff Hardy def. Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho and Kane.

In a whirlwind Fatal Four Way Elimination Match, Jeff Hardy leveled Kane with the Swanton Bomb, only to have Chris Jericho pull him away and pick up the pinfall on The Big Red Machine himself. Rey Mysterio immediately executed the 619 on the first Undisputed WWE Champion. But when he went to finish off his prey, Jericho hurled a nearby chair at the masked Superstar in mid-air, getting himself disqualified.

Hardy and Mysterio then engaged in a fast-paced, intense tour-de-force of combat. Just as it looked like the Intercontinental Champion might overcome The Charismatic Enigma, Hardy suddenly reversed the pin, grabbing the huge victory. As a result, Jeff Hardy will once again take on The Ultimate Opportunist for the title at Judgment Day.

WWE BACKLASH PPV

Vengence Becomes Him
photo: courtesy wwe.com

Sun, April 26, 2009 - PROVIDENCE, RI

source: WWE.com - After losing the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania and a singles match on Raw to CM Punk, Kane was craving retribution. And retribution is exactly what The Big Red Monster got when he decimated Punk in the center of the ring at Backlash.

His previous victories over Kane had clearly lit a fire under The Straightedge Superstar and from the opening bell he attacked The Big Red Monster with the intensity of an uncaged animal, unleashing a barrage of thunderous shots that could be heard throughout the Dunkin Donuts Center. But while Punk used his fortitude and heart to battle The Big Red Monster, he simply couldn’t overcome Kane’s size and strength advantage. In the end, a massive chokeslam sealed Mr. Money in the Bank’s fate — and the win for The Big Red Machine.

To his credit, CM Punk came to Providence with a strategy. The Straightedge Superstar targeted his opponent’s right arm, throwing dangerous kicks at Kane in an attempt to take away the 7-footer’s most effective move — the chokeslam. Yet, Punk used his educated feet one too many times. After suffering through a barrage of kicks, The Big Red Monster finally grabbed Mr. Money in the Bank with both hands and chokeslammed him to the canvas on his way to victory.

Clearly, Kane had gotten the vengeance he was seeking at Backlash. And as the referee counted three, The Big Red Monster smiled, satisfied with the carnage he had left in his wake

Matt Hardy & Kane def. Jeff Hardy & CM Punk Jeff Hardy was attempting to close the door on his brother Matt with a Twist of Fate when a fallen Kane suddenly climbed back up on the apron. This allowed the elder Hardy to send Jeff running into the hard head of The Big Red Machine, before rolling his brother up for the quick victory.

Monday, April 20, 2009 - LONDON, UK

source: WWE.com - One week after the 2009 WWE Draft its effects were still being felt as Raw took place in London. There were numerous interpromotional matches, with Superstars attempting to make their presence on Raw known one last time before heading to their new brand.

Mr. Money in the Bank CM Punk def. Kane
At the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania, CM Punk became a two-time Mr. Money in the Bank after knocking Kane off a dangerously high ladder. When Raw emanated from London, The Big Red Monster had an opportunity to exact some manner of retribution before he and The Straightedge Superstar move to SmackDown permanently. Kane’s vengeance will continue to wait for Friday nights, however, as CM Punk rolled-up the 7-footer after countering a chokeslam.

WWE DRAFT Supplemental

Wednesday, April 15, 2009

source: WWE.com - The 2009 Draft saw the entire WWE roster shaken up, and even after a special three-hour Raw, the changes kept coming with the Supplemental Draft, on Wednesday.

Kane, Melina, C.M. Punk, Jericho and Rey Mysterio were drafted to SmackDown! on the RAW Live show, while Big Show, Matt Hardy, MVP, Maryse and 3H left SmackDown! to join the RAW roster and The Miz was drafted from ECW to RAW. Vladamir Kozlov was drafted from Smack Down to the ECW roster.

On Wednesday, Smack Down gained Alicia Fox, John Morrison and Ricky Ortiz from ECW, and Candice, Charlie Haas, Dolph Ziggler, JTG, Layla, Mike Knox and Shad from RAW. The RAW roster was boosted with Brie & Nikki Bella, Brian Kendrick, Carlito & Primo, Chavo, Festus, and Mr. Kennedy from SmackDown!, and Hornswoggle from ECW. ECW got DH Smith, Ezekiel Jackson, Hurricane Helms, Natalya and Zack ryder from SmackDown!

So, the team of Miz and Morrison was broken up, and Hornswoggle will now be working by himself, as will Ezekiel Jackson who has always been seen with Brian Kendrick! Intersting . . .

File under CURIOUSOR & CURIOUSOR - While Jim Ross, over on his WWE Blog, gave his analyst's view with regard the draft, he made mention of everyone in the draft BUT Kane! Uh-oh JR! Hope the Big Red Monster doesn't pay you a visit in some dark alcove for THAT oversight . . .

WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW

Rough Draft
photo: courtesy wwe.com
Monday, April 13, 2009 - ATLANTA, GA

source: WWE.com - The 2009 Draft saw the entire WWE roster shaken up, and even after a special three-hour Raw, the changes are still coming with the Supplemental Draft, live on WWE.com all day Wednesday. While the WWE Universe certainly won.

Though the WWE Universe might not have known what to expect with the 2009 Draft, they should know to "Expect Everything" for the very first episode of WWE Superstars this Thursday at 8 ET/5 WT only on WGN America.

Kane (Raw) def. The Brian Kendrick (SmackDown!); Big Show drafted to RAW
Representing SmackDown, The Brian Kendrick took on Kane with another Draft selection on the line. But even with the assistance of his bodyguard, Ezekiel Jackson, Kendrick was no match for the immense size and strength of The Big Red Monster. Kane’s victory earned Raw another Draftee, bringing in The World’s Largest Athlete, Big Show, and eliminating the 7-footer’s status as the biggest Superstar on Raw.

Later, Edge (SmackDown!) won the Tri-Branded Battle Royal. As a result, Kane & Chris Jericho were drafted to SmackDown!

Five Superstars from each of WWE’s three brands took to the ring for a 15-Man Tri-Branded Battle Royal, with the victor earning two Draft picks for their respective brand. With so much talent loaded into the ring, the match could have gone any way, but it was The Ultimate Opportunist Edge who outlasted the competition – including Big Show, Mark Henry and Finlay – and was the last Superstar left in the ring. Though Raw had gained numerous new ring warriors throughout the night, this win did a lot to even the score by bringing both Kane and Chris Jericho to SmackDown!

In-ring: CM Punk opens WrestleMania as he makes his way to the ring to a big pop. We’ve got Jim Ross, Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler at ringside. They introduce the Spanish announce team and they speak as the WWE United States Champion MVP makes his way to the ring. Out next is Finlay with Hornswoggle by his side somewhere. Shelton Benjamin is out next followed by Kofi Kingston in his WrestleMania debut. Christian Cage comes out next to a big pop followed by the last man, Kane.

The match starts and all eight men go at it. Kane dumps MVP over the top to Finlay. It’s only Mark Henry and Kane in the ring as they go at it. A big chant for Christian breaks out. Henry splashes Kane in the corner. Shelton and Cage bring a ladder in the ring and take out Kane and Henry. Kofi leaps over their ladder and dropkicks it on them. Kofi does his BOOM BOOM on the ladder that’s on Shelton and Cage. Kofi looks to have hurt his leg. The ladder is up as Kane and Henry climb it at the same time. The rest of the participants come in and fight them down off the ladder. They dump Kane to the floor and knock Henry to the floor. Shelton climbs the ladder and Punk goes at it. Finlay and MVP climb the other ladder and they all fight it out. Kane and Henry come back in the ring and tip both ladders over, sending everyone flying.

Kane clears the ring and sets the ladder up. He starts climbing until Henry comes in and tips the ladder over, sending Kane to the rope. Henry is in the ring by himself now setting up the ladder. He tries to throw it at Finlay’s head but he ducks and it flies to the floor. Finlay sends Henry to the floor. Finlay leaps through the ropes onto Kane on the floor. Cage is in the ring now and he flies off the corner to the floor on Finlay and Kane. MVP is on the apron, gets the fans hype and leaps down on the floor onto all three men. Punk and Kofi are in the ring now. They bounce off the ropes and fly through them, landing on the other four men on the floor. Shelton climbs a ladder set up on the floor and leaps from the top onto all the othr men on the floor. A huge holy shit chant breaks out! Incredible spot! Henry is in the ring now and he climbs to the top rope. Before he can jump, Finlay knocks him down with the shillelagh. Hornswoggle throws a mini-ladder in the ring and sets it up but Finlay takes it and puts it in the corner infront of Henry, who is still laying over the top rope. Hornswoggle stands on Henry’s back on the top rope and leaps on the other 6 wrestlers on the floor. Finlay decks Henry with the mini-ladder and brings in a regular ladder from the floor.

Finlay and Kofi go at it in the ring now. The ladder ends up falling on Finlay in the corner. The crowd chants for Kofi. Kofi jumps at Finlay but Finlay smacks him in the face with the mini-ladder. Punk comes in but Finlay drops him on top of the ladder with his roll finisher. Finlay takes everyone out with the small ladder. Finlay sets the ladder back up and gets ready to climb. He gets kicked by Kofi off the ladder and Kofi starts climbing. Henry comes in and tips the ladder over with Kofi on it, almost nailing the cameraman. Henry drops Kofi with a headbutt. Henry picks up the ladder and holds it trying to put it up. Kofi stands up, leaps up the entire ladder and tries to jump down on Henry. Henry catches him in mid-air and drops him with the World’s Strongest Slam on top of the ladder. Awesome spot. Henry climbs up the ladder but MVP jabs him with a ladder from the floor. MVP goes to work on Henry in the ring now. MVP climbs the ladder but Shelton comes in and they go at it.

Shelton leaps off the ladder but MVP catches him in a powerbomb. MVP climbs and gets close but CM Punk comes in and they go at it on the ladder. Cage pulls MVP off the ladder and clotheslines him. Cage tries to pull Punk off but gets kicked. Punk grabs the briefcase with one hand but Cage stops him. Punk grabs Cage on the ladder and tries to go for a GTS. One ladder is sticking out as a platform up high on the other ladder. Cage counters the GTS and drops an Unprettier from way up high. Insane spot. Shelton drops Kane on the floor. MVP climbs the ladder and reaches the briefcase. There’s another ladder propped up on the ropes from the floor and going to the platform ladder. Shelton climbs over three ladders and meets MVP on the top. They fight at it and it looks like MVP smacks his face every time on the way down. Shelton picks MVP up and powerbombs him over the top rope to the floor onto Tony Atlas, Mark Henry and others. Shelton and Finlay fight at it on the ladder and Finlay falls hard. Shelton is insan here and someone has to get hurt it seems. Christian climbs a ladder but Shelton meets him up top. There’s two ladders and it tips over, sending Shelton to the floor. Tuesday, March 31, 2009 - DALLAS, TX : American Airlines Center

source: WWE.com and sescoops.com- The Road to WrestleMania is finally approaching its ultimate destination. And with the immense shadow of The Grandest Show of Them All hanging over the Land of the Extreme, every inch of the squared-circle was overflowing with aggressive anticipation.

In-ring: Christian and Kane start off, Christian avoids Kane at first then lands a punch. Kane returns the favor with a side slam but misses the elbow drop. Kane grabs Christian by the throat and sends him into the corner. Christian comes back with a missile drop kick then goes to work on Kane's arm. Finlay tags in continuing where Christian left off. Kane fights back landing a punch and a knee to Finlay in the corner, but Finlay counters with a kick and returns an assault on Kane's arm. Christian tags back in hitting a forearm to Kane’s arm from the turnbuckles. A shoulder tackle from Kane takes Christian down and he takes his time getting back to his feet as we go to commercial.

Back from break, Kane uses the Irish Whip on Finlay followed up with a clothesline into the corner. Mark Henry gets the tag and connects with a head butt and kick to Finlay’s back. Kane punches Finlay while Henry argues with the referee and Mark gets a near fall. Kane tags back in and kicks Finlay. A snap mare and a drop kick earn Kane a two count. Kane now applies a reverse chin lock before he sends Finlay into his corner and Henry tags back in. Henry and Finlay trade blows and Kane gets the hot tag, landing a blow to Finlay's ribs followed by an Irish Whip but he charges into a boot and Finlay finishes with a DDT. Christian tags in and takes a shot at Kane, but The Big Red Machine delivers his vintage uppercut. It's back to Mark Henry who charges into boots from Christian. Christian wants a cross body but Henry catches him only to have him counter the hold and get the clip on Henry. Christian and Finlay perform a double drop kick to topple Henry then knock Kane off the apron. After delivering a vicious double-clothesline to The Belfast Brawler and Captain Charisma, Mark Henry caught the re-emerging Christian off the top rope in mid-air, sending him crashing back down to earth with the World’s Strongest Slam.

Winners: Kane and Mark Henry

After the bell, Mark Henry and Kane look at the briefcase and Henry continued wrecking havoc with a surprise clothesline to his tag team partner. The World’s Strongest Man echoed the fact that there will be no allies when eight Superstars compete in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match at The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW

Over the Top Rope Battle Royal

Monday, March 30, 2009 - DALLAS, TX

source: WWE.com - The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania will host the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, but on Raw, the match’s participants competed in an Eight-Man Over the Top Rope Battle Royal. Ladder Matches require a host of skills, including speed, endurance, and a Superstar’s willingness to take risks, but on Raw, the sheer force and power of Kane enabled him to taste victory.

In-ring: Finlay, Mark Henry, Christian, Kofi Kingston, Shelton Benjamin and MVP are already assembled and we are shown a shot of the Money in the Bank briefcase hanging above the ring. A ladder was set up in the entrance aisle. C.M. Punk and Kane are each shown making their entrances.

At the bell, Henry eliminated Finlay almost immediately then Hornswoggle distracted Henry momentarily while the other wrestlers worked together to heave The World's Strongest Man over the top rope. MVP and Shelton battled on the ring apron until Kane ran over and clotheslined them both to the floor.

Christian, Kingston, and Punk teamed up on Kane but weren't able to elimination him. The partnership didn't last long, though, as Punk tossed Kofi over the top rope. Punk hit the high knee on Christian and went for a bulldog, but Christian fought him off and tried to throw him over the top rope. Punk held on, but Kane picked up Christian, threw him onto Punk, and both Christian and Punk fell to the floor.

Winner: KANE.

After the match, The Big Red Monster climbed a ladder in the center of the ring to symbolically grab the briefcase suspended above the ring.

FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN!

Money in the Bank Match
photo: courtesy wwe.com
Friday, March 27, 2009 - CORPUS CHRISTIE, TX

source: WWE.com - Just nine crucial days before the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania!: Kane, Finlay, Christian & Shelton Benjamin took on United States Champion Montel Vontavious Porter, CM Punk, Kofi Kingston, & Mark Henry.

The Big Red Machine delivered a devastating chokeslam to CM Punk after catching The Straightedge Superstar while he was lunging at him from the turnbuckle. But once the final bell rang - in a WrestleMania prelude - a free-for-all between the eight Superstars ensued. When Christian tried to make his own WrestleMania statement by producing a ladder and climbing it high to the Money in the Bank briefcase, Finlay tipped over the 20-foot ladder and Captain Charisma took a freefall onto his six other WrestleMaia opponents outside the ring. Meanwhile, Finlay made a climb of his own to touch the briefcase he hopes soon to make his.

I can't get enough of these mixers - I'll be sorry to see them end after WrestleMania. It's one of the best ways to showcase a number of great SuperStars at once, in my humble opinion.

WINNERS: Kane, Finlay, Christian & Shelton Benjamin.

source: WWE.com - A special edition of MVP’s VIP Lounge turned into an Extreme argument between the Money in the Bank Ladder Match competitors on ECW on Sci Fi Tuesday night. But one Big Red Superstar stood tall below the coveted briefcase just 12 days before the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania.

In-ring: New United States Champion MVP brought his VIP Lounge to the Land of the Extreme on Tuesday night. His special guests were his Money in the Bank Ladder Match competitors, Shelton Benjamin, Christian, CM Punk, Mark Henry, Finlay, Kofi Kingston and Kane.

The Ballin’ Superstar couldn’t keep control of his Lounge full of 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania opponents. As the Money in the Bank briefcase hung above the ring, all the Superstars took turns letting the WWE Universe and their opponents know why they were prime for taking the prize come WrestleMania, except for one – Kane. The Big Red Machine stood watching his WrestleMania competitors' bravado come to near blows, until MVP tried to regain control and bring him into the mix.

After MVP asked if he'd give his two cents, Kane looked around him, smiled his lopsided smile, then lifted his arms and brought them down with the mastery of the maestro, bathing the ring and arena in fiery hues as the ringposts exploded. As his opponents quietly scattered from the ring, Kane stood alone staring up at the coveted briefcase.

News and Rumors
photo: courtesy wwe.com

Saturday, March 21, 2009

source: TheSun.com- Apparently, some online reports had been circulating rumors that WWE Superstar Kane had taken on UFC star Tim Sylvia this past week in Detroit. However, neither man was in Detroit at the time of the alleged incident.

To confirm, a WWE spokesman dismissed the story, telling The Sun: "This is a total fabrication."

Kane also offered comment to the British newspaper.

"I was sitting at home at the time and someone told me - that was the first I'd heard about it," Kane said. "I hear I handled it pretty well though. I'm happy with myself! I'm pretty sure Tim won't hold a grudge."

Kane went on to say that he and Undertaker have taken part in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) training in the past.

"Wrestlers are a little tougher than we're generally given credit for and I think we'd represent ourselves well," Kane stated when asked how he thought a professional wrestler would fare against a MMA fighter.

TheSun states they will have more on KANE's interview on Friday, March 27th. To read the exclusive, follow the link to thesun.co.uk

Black 'n Red 'n Worms All Over

Tuesday, March 03, 2009 - BOSTON, MA

source: WWE.com - As the rocky Road to the 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania took another unpredictable turn through the Land of the Extreme, one Superstar felt the surprising sting of defeat, the Money in the Bank Ladder Match got a lot stronger, and a haunting predator became the haunted prey.

In a monster match nearly as scary as Kane’s movie See No Evil - which makes its Sci Fi premiere this Saturday at 9/8 CT - the Big Red Machine returned to the Land of the Extreme to battle Boogeyman.

It's a scene straight out of anyone's nightmares of Hades - The Hell-fires of Kane followed by the billowing noxious darkness of the bottomless pit of the Boogeyman. Once Boogey is in the ring, Kane appears to want some of his worms which Boogey obligingly hands over. Kane scrutinizes then tosses them and rewards Boogey with a hard uppercut. Kane puts Boogey in the corner and roughs him up, a few blows, followed by a snap mare and drop kick for an early near cover. Kane sets up an elbow drop with a body slam, but Boogey rolls away and Kane gets nothin’ but mat. Boogeyman uses this to slam Kane in the corner, but on his second run, Kane hits him with a forearm, and out of the ring. The two men start trading blows, leading to Boogeyman going up top, but as the frightening creature from the Bottomless Pit hurled himself off the top rope, tasting the very worms of victory in his mind’s eye, Kane suddenly caught him by the throat and delivered a massive chokeslam for a simply frightening victory.

The convincing win came just one day after Kane captured a spot in the WrestleMania Money in the Bank Match. And if his display was any indication of what the WWE Universe will witness on The Grandest Stage of Them All, Kane's seven opponents could be in very big trouble.
